HELP! All Office documents are locked!

Dear All
Am away from home and need to use Excel and word but for some reason my
laptop has decided to LOCK all documents and not allow me to modify even a
new document. I'm sure it something really easy but desperately need to know
how to sort it out!

I don't have a trial version - I did pay for it! And I have activated it. I
used it yesterday (2003 version) and switched off my laptop. When I switched
it on again this morning, it didn't want to work!

The fact that you used it yesterday is NO indication that you actually
activated it.
Open (say) Word and do Help-Activate this product. What does it say?

Did it (Office)come with your computer when you purchased said computer?????????
