Help! applet contains a list of words which can be dragged n dropped

I wish to design and write an applet to compliment MS Word. It aims to
make writing fun for children with learning difficulties.

The applet contains an user updatable list of new words which can be
dragged and dropped into the document.

Please advise on how I should go about doing it.
