HELP! ASAP- I need help with photo display

J

Jannie

I have tried to set up our company employee pics in our database in Access
2003. They are saved as jpg. When I try to view them they come up as an
icon and not a picture. Granted if I click on the picture I can see them but
I want them to display in the form as a picture-yes I have selected them to
be shown as a picture not an icon, but they keep showing as an icon. I have
tried various types of displays bmp, jpeg, jpg and so on. Nothing works.
Someone told me it was the newer version of Access preventing me from doing
this to save my
database as an Access 2000 db so I did that. I tried again but same thing.
HELP! I have to resolve this today for our manager.

Are you using the "Bound Object Frame" to hold the picutre on the form. If
not that is probably your problem.

The following applies to using a bound object frame:

Access/Office 2003 does not include an OLE Server application for JPEG (as previous versions did). You
can manually install MS Photo Editor from the Office XP CD, but there are potentially serious drawbacks
to this approach.

The following article includes more info, links to relevant MS KB articles, alternatives etc:
