Help building an Access Database Search Engine

S

Sparkles

Would anyone be able to suggest how to build a search engine in Access 2003?
I will have information and images that will need to be able to do keyword
searches to pull the information up. This has the same concept as EBSCOHost
or a card catalog. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Sparkles,

Please note, Steve does NOT represent the people here. This newsgroup is
FREE. No one SHOULD solicit you here but then there is Steve... He has no
shame and will solicit even though he has been told NUMEROUS times that this
newsgroup is for FREE support!

Sounds like you are looking for an image database... Here are a few sites
with some samples...

And here is a site of assorted sample downloads...

Hi Sparkles,

I have several QBF (Query by Form) samples available for download, ranging
from very simple to more complex:

Easiest--very little VBA code. Includes Word doc. written by Michael
Hernandez:
http://www.accessmvp.com/TWickerath/downloads/customdialogbox.zip

Fairly easy--demonstrates "iterating" the .ItemsSelected property of a
multi-select list box:
http://www.accessmvp.com/TWickerath/downloads/elements.zip

A bit more complex
http://www.accessmvp.com/TWickerath/downloads/Chap08QBF.zip

http://www.seattleaccess.org/downloads.htm
See the download "Query By Form"

Here is an image database sample, but it does not currently include QBF
functionality:

Special Note to Steve Santus:
You do NOT have permission to use any of my samples in your business (just
in case you had that idea).

Hello,

I provide help with Access applications for a reasonable fee. I could
build your search engine for a modest fee. I would be glad to provide you
a quote if you email me the details of your requiements.

These newsgroups are provided ny Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
Ther eare many highly qualified people who gladly help for free. Stevie is
not one of them. He is the local troll who is constantly grovelling for
working and promising far more than he delivers.
