Where is thankyou.htm located??
The link you have for it is entered as if it
was in the same folder as the forms. ( HTML )
If not, go back into form properties and reset the
confirmation page, but this time "Browse "to the page,
click on it and then click Apply, then save the page.

I've tried that too - even redid the page - named it
http://www.midamericamtg.com/application2.htm

and then went into form properties, options/confiramtion page and clicked on
browse - and chose the thankyou.htm located in the main directory instead of
the subdirectory HTML ... so both the applications2.htm and the thankyou.htm
are now in the main directory...still get the error??

any help appreciated

Pam

P

Pam

Also - when I submit info on the application2.htm page - I get the results
via email but then I ALSO get another email with the subject - "Data posted
to form 1 of http://www.midamericamtg.com/thankyou.htm and the following in
the body of the message:

****************************************************************************
***
subject:
redirect:
recipient:
required

---------

ps...I'm trying to fix this form - I did not originally design this
website - but they couldn't get the form to submit email results - so I'm
kinda working blind - my other sites that I have designed and have forms on
them - all work - so I'm hard pressed to figure out why this one won't go to
the thank you page

thanks again
Pam

P

Pam

actually, I'm getting >2< replies with the bottom msg after the submit info
comes thru??? still gettng the error page instead of the thankyou.htm page
though

even when I put a simple form - such as on
http://www.midamericamtg.com/application3.htm ... no thank you - and still
getting the one email from form results and 2 more emails with below
message...this is so bewildering!

The e-mail address used by the form
*must* be an e-mail address associated with the domain
the form is in.

ie: [email protected]

In other words, pam@earthlink won't work.

?? you mean unless I use a domain name email addy it won't go to the
thankyou.htm? I'm getting the form results at my own email address - I
always test forms this way when I put them up on various sites - my own or
ones I make for others on their own domains. Am I understanding you wrong?
or what?

thanks
Pam

S

Steve Easton

That is my understanding. It causes
the form handler to error out.

But then I've always used a domain associated
e-mail address for mine.

I'm going to go back to the your form and look again.

Can we back up a little bit, and just work
with one form?
Try removing all but one and republish
and lets start over.

LOl...ok, I was just trying to figure something out - I've deleted all the
'extra' forms and have left this one

I'm using:

http://www.midamericamtg.com/HTML/applicat.htm

I changed the form to use my own email address so I can check results - but
am still getting the error - not the thankyou.htm page (located in same
directory) - like I said, I've always used my own address to check other's
sites to make sure forms are working properly -

thanks for your help and patience.

Ok, try this:
Remove the send to e-mail, and have
the results sent to a page on the server
and see if works correctly.

well, ok, I am doing this live - so I clicked on form properties, removed
email address and put in a file name - when I submit info on the form on the
internet, and submit - it writes the info to a file and saves the file
within the web directory - but I still get the fp error - not thankyou.htm
page....I'm thinking I'll just leave off the d___ thankyou page and let it
just save form results saved.

unless you have any other ideas?

thanks
Pam

OK.
Do the same local and then publish
and check.

Ok,

Just went back and looked at applicat.htm

There is no confirmation page designated.
Also there is a different e-mail address than before.

PS

IMHO
For the type of information being collected I would recommend looking into a Secure Hosted site server and server side scripting /
database
- I for one, would never submit personal / financial info thru non secure emails / saves
