help! can't level enterprise resources

I an level, and autolevel local recourses. But, I cannot level or autolevel
enterprise resources. Is there a configuration on the project server
server-side that I can make to allow this to work?

I have not been able to find a way to get this to work. Best I can come up
with is to copy the entire project into a new one; the resources will then be
created in the new project as local. I can then level the resources, then
copy the start - finish times back into the original project.

This is a pretty obnoxious work-around for obvious reasons.

Is leveling of enterprise resources just not available in project server?

thanks.

BigTim --

Try the following steps and let us know if you can level the overallocated
resources:

1. Launch Microsoft Project Professional
2. In the Project Server accounts dialog, deselect the "Load summary
resource assignments" option
3. Click the Connect button
4. Open the project in question

Let us know if you can level those overallocated resources now.

Nope -- still same thing. Levelling has zero affect or change.

I've been "messing" around with this.

I can open a blank project, copy the entire project (by selecting all the
columns) into the new one; the resourcses are then treated as local
resources. I can then level on an hourly basis. If I publish this new one
under a new name it tells me that my resources have duplicate names in the
enterprise and asks me if I want to replace my local resources with
enterprise. I click yes and it publishes. My start/finish times from the
levelling are kept; but the hourly task break-up is not.

I can level all I want with local resources.

After making your change I tried the exact same procedure I outlined above
with the exact same result.

I should say though that I can't level if I have enterprise resources, even
with the change you indicated.
