Hi there
I recently had to archive and install and since then I have been unable to use any Office applications - EG Word crashes on me and suggests using the database utility to rebuild the office database. When I do this, I get the message "an error occured when attempting to rebuild your database." The log when Word crashes looks like this:
Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0

Error Signature:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Date/Time: 2009-07-08 16:54:09 +0100
Application Name: Microsoft Word
Application Bundle ID: com.microsoft.Word
Application Signature: MSWD
Application Version: 12.0.0.071130
Crashed Module Name: CoreFoundation
Crashed Module Version: unknown
Crashed Module Offset: 0x000c64c9
Blame Module Name: CoreFoundation
Blame Module Version: unknown
Blame Module Offset: 0x000c64c9
Application LCID: 1033
Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0409

I have repaired permissions and done everything I can think of - any help would be fantastic.
Many thanks

Hello there - I have sorted this - it was a simple fact that the caches folder in my documents was locked after the install. Unlocking it has sorted the problem. Many thanks for your replies!

This still doesn¹t solve the problem that you are using the 12.0.0 version
that contains a lot of bugs fixed in the updaters.
