I have Office 2003 Professional. I now keep on getting:

Error 1706. Setup cannot find the required files.

messages. I do not have CD. Is it possible making Windows auto gen. the
required files? They were deleted from C:\Documents & Settings\ folder...

Hi Kevin,

Error 1706 is basically the Installer saying I need access to the original network location or CD that was used to install Office.
It can be from trying to upgrade or to change features or trying to do a self-repair.

Basically, MS Installer expects to always have access to the original installation source when it needs it.
