Help files should have an index

To me it seems as if the helpfullness of MS Help files has decreased steadily
since the last version used in Windows 3.2 That version was actually
helpfull.
Now you can't get the contents, index, find tabs which weren't great - but at
least you could eventually find what you were looking for in the pre 2002
help. In the old 3.2 help files there were even forward and back buttons
that "paged" through a virtual help manual. That was very nice. And the See
Also, Applies Too and Examples were very usefull. What happened? Budget
cuts? Come on lets get it together and provide some real help.

You don't specify what version you dislike so much, but:

Using Office XP: with the Help window open, click the Options button (the
5th of 5 buttons at the top of the window). Select "Show Tabs"

3 tabs show: Contents, AnswerWizard (i.e., Find) and Index

If your complaint is literally with Windows Help (Start>Help), I get my
OEM's version of MS' Help file, so I can't help you there. You might get a
better response by posting in an appropriate Windows group rather than that
for the Access db program.

You're "preaching to the choir", brother. Believe me, the MVP's have
made our opinion of the deficiencies of the new Access help interface
known to Microsoft, loud and clear. It may take a while for the
message to sink in that *the new version of Help is DAMN NEAR USELESS*
but we'll keep reminding them!
