Help for Power Point 2002

I am using Power Point 2002. On the main menu when i
click on INSERT...i get a drop down menu...on that drop
down menu both the SYMBOL and HYPERLINK are not bold...in
other words..if i need to use either the SYMBOL or
HYPERLINK option,i cannot use them...Please help...
