Help! I lost a valuable file!!!

Hi, I received a Word document as an email attachment and opened it in
Windows Mail. I was not aware that if I made changes to the document (saving
as I went... or so I thought) that the changes would not be made to the
original document because I hadn't dowloaded it!!! Is there a way to find
the document with my changes or am I SOL? :(
