p.s. I've found info on how to use it in 2007, but I'm using 2003 so
that doens't work.

How would Excel know the difference between valid or invalid?

First you must identify what "invalid data" means.

Then you use any number of functions to look over the sheet to find the inavlid
data.

Can you give us a hint?

Show the Auditing Toolbar (View-Toolbars)
One of the buttons there is "circle invalid data"
