Help in NOT displaying birthdays!

I have about 5000 in my contact list, many with their birthdays in the
"birthday" field. Each one shows up on its appropriate day in the
"calendar" view. How can I turn this off and NOT see these birthdays in the
calendar view?

I'm pretty sure that whenever you put a birthday in the Birthday field,
Outlook automatically creates the corresponding appointment for the
birthday. You'd have to use another field for the birthday info if you
don't want it to do that...
