HELP - Logged hours cannot be APPROVED...

Hi,

I am facing a wierd problem. For a particular project for
which I am the manager, whenever my resources log in hours
for this Project's tasks using Project Server Web Access,
I never receive any task updates for approval. Hence, I am
never able to approve these hours. This has been happening
since almost a month now, and I am not sure what could be
causing this.

Could anyone provide me a solution to this problem? Let me
know if you need any further details on this.

Hello Ashish,

Maybe your resources click on "Save Changes" instead of "Update All"?

"Update All" button is for "Notifies your manager of any changes you made to
the tasks in your timesheet.", but "Save Changes" button is for "Saves your
changes without sending updates to your manager. You can update your manager
later by clicking Update All or Update Selected Rows."

Is anyone else receiving the updates instead? This could be caused if
someone else opened your project and republished the assignments. You might
try these steps and see if they solve the problem:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
3. Click the OK button

Completing the above steps will reassign you as the project manager of each
assignment in the project and will redirect all task updates to you. Let us
know if this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Atleast the updates seem to be
coming to me now. But there's another problem now. My
resources have logged in hours for the month of Feb and
March for this project, but i cannot see any hours logged
by them when i choose to approve their tasks. Now, Why
could this be happening?
Please let me know abt this, as early as possible. Thanks
for your co-operation so far.

Ashish:

The updates are in the system under the previous owner of the project and
tasks. You can find out who owns these assignments as the PM, and log on as
that person to approve the updates. Use the View Resource Assignments view
from the Resource Center to find the assignments and their respective
owner(s).
