Hi guys,

I am having problems in copying the outlook's shortcuts from one machine
from another.

Can anyone help?

Roady [MVP]

These are specific for each mailbox and cannot be copied unless it's for the
same mailbox. If copying the .fav file doesn;t work you should recreate the
shortcuts.

I could not locate the .fav in the original machine.

Is there any other solutions??

It's located here;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
Make sure you can view hidden files and folders.
It should be named as your Outlook profile. By default this means
outlook.fav

Hi Roady,

Thanks.

I found the .fav file.

And I've tried to overwrite the .fav which is located in another machine.
But when I click on the shortcut, it says it could not locate the folder.

Any ideas?

Roady [MVP]

That is because you are using it on another mailbox. In general copying the
fav file only works if you restore it to the same machine or when you have
lots of external links in it (like to webpages). Shortcuts to mailbox
folders should be recreated.
