I don't think this problem of your is restricted to the projector only.
I'm using a 2 monitor setup and am facing the exact same problem at my desk as well. For some reason, Powerpoint decides not to use Monitor 2 to display slide show on.
It'll be good to know if there is some fix for this issue.
I'm using a Dell Latitude D630 and didn't have this problem with PPT 2003, i.e. until yesterday.

hours on the phone with EPSON yesterday but they never "solved" the problem.
They finally had me go to the NVIDIA setup and call for my projector to be
the "primary" monitor and the laptop the "secondary". This works to a
certain extent in that the slide show does come up on the projector and the
presenter's view on the laptop but any time the slide show is not actually
showing, the desktop, icons, and task bar show on the projector rather than
the laptop. The real problem seems to be that when you setup the slide show
in PowerPoint and click on the secondary monitor as the one to use for the
slide show and then click okay, the program reverts to Primary Monitor for
the show! If I could figure out some way to make the selection of the
secondary monitor "stick", I think all would be okay. It sure is frustrating.

HELP - Multiple monitor problem
I have PowerPoint 2007 and cannot get the display slide show monitor to
"lock" onto monitor 2 (which is the one that is set up with my Epson
projector). When I click on monitor 2 and then click on okay the setup
reverts to primary monitor. My control panel displays are set up with 1
being (Multiple Monitors) and it is "grayed out "for primary and extend".
Monitor 2 is (Default Monitor) on EPSON Projector Virtual Driver 1 and it has
extend checked and primary is not checked. Monitor 3 is Plug and Play and it
has extend checked and primary is grayed out.
Whatever, I can't get the "slide show" on the projector and presenter view
on the laptop.

I don't think it's a projector problem (but I may well be wrong).
I don't think it's a projector problem (but I may well be wrong). The
desktop comes up through the projector a signal is being properly sent. At
some point "it all worked" but then I turned everything off, carted it to
another state for a presentation and was unable to get it to work again. I
really had a "red face".

bad as having 600 people looking at you while you try to troubleshoot
presentation problems.
However, I think you misunderstood Austin's answer. The problem is probably
in the Projector Manufacturer's *software* and/or configuration. It is not
likely to be a Windows or PowerPoint thing. Since Epson's software is
outside most of our areas of knowledge, most of what we offer would be
guesswork.
I'm sure Epson have some sort of help on their web-site or available via
phone.

that is where the problem lays. A wild guess on my part but I would bet
something messed about with the drivers, codecs, etc..

What brand and model is the computer? What video card are you using?
What brand and model is the computer? What video card are you using? Nvidia,
ATI, or Intel? It sounds like the video driver is confused and just needs
some correction.
