Hi !
I have Outlook 2003 on Win XP Pro.
I have 12 email accounts, all POP3.
When I do a Send/Recieve for the whole group, I see that Outlook polls the
accounts at the same time (in parallel)... so, I noticed that when it is in
the process of recieving (downloading) emails, the whole situation takes a
lot of time, it is very slow, and even my computer freezes for a few seconds
and it's very slow... I have to wait until the whole process is over so i
can gain control again. Also, on a nromal day I have like 300 emails for all
accounts, and it takes about 20 minutes to download over a DSL connection.
Now, yesterday I discovered that if I tell Outlook to download each account
at a time, it is PERFECT! In one account I had 120 emails and they
downloaded in a few seconds.... So, I concluded that I should poll each
account at a time.
NOW: Since it is very tedious to do it manually, I need to know the
following and I appreciate very much your help:
a) Is there a way to tell Outlook in a Full Send/Recieve for all accounts,
to do it in a sequencial (serial) mode? Meaning that it first works on the
account 1, then when it's ready 100% it should go to the second, etc..
etc... ?
b) Is my initial problem a known issue and makes it sense to you ? Or may I
have another problem I am not considering and ignoring?
c) Is it possible to have separate icons on the toolbar for each account, so
i just press it on demand ? I tried to look into the toolbar settings, but
there is no way to individualize accounts...
Thanks so much for your time in looking into this !!
