Help! Need a couple of fonts

M

Mike Koewler

I have a client who laid out a nice ad in Pub, which I can open.
However, it is missing two font families - Eras Demi ITC and Berline
Sans FB. He does not know how to attach them to an e-mail and I don't
have a clue what substitute might look correct. If someone can e-mail
them to me, I will greatly appreciate it. I will also delete them after
printing the ad.

TIA,

Mike

Your client can attach a font the very same way he attached the Publisher ad.
Have him open the font folder in the control panel and drag the font(s) to the
email message. Be aware fonts are copyright products if they are any good.

I think if he 'embeds' the fonts in the file and re-sends it you should be
able to print it. From the help file: "Embedding the fonts in your
publication is one of the best ways to ensure that a font is always
available, even if you move the publication to a new computer or take it to a
commercial printing service."

I have those fonts by the way. Do I have your email address?

Some fonts simply cannot be embedded.

Mary,

My e-mail is (e-mail address removed). I thought it would up in the message. The
guy is not a computer wizard - I tried to explain how to copy fonts. In
XP, I usually have to copy them to a different folder and then attach
them. I asked him to just fax me the ad so I could see the layout and
then know what font to substitute. Instead, he sent a black and white
copy of the ad. :-(
