Help needed in linking to tables using Access 2007

B

Bill F

I am using Access 2007 with Windows Vista. I am getting the following
compaction error after linking tables from another data base and performing a
compaction - repair:

ErrorCode -1002

ErrorDescription - '|' is not a valid name. Make sure that it does not
include invalid characters or punctuation and that it is not too long.

ErrorTable -MSysRelationships

This occurs when both dbs are either in Access 2007 format or when both are
in Access 2000 format.

I can import the tables instead of linking them and there is no problem.
After the tables are linked and the db is compacted, the linked tables will
not delete.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Bill,

Not sure if this helps...
Are all the relationships correct in the database that contains the tables
you want to link? Do all the tables have a primary key?

The database you want to link the tables to, does it have tables and
relationships too? Do they conflict with the linked database?

Sorry that's all I can think of...
Cheers
Michael
