Help Needed: Uninstal

R

Rex

greetings all,,,,

below is an email i recieved today from a friend trying to help a
friend,,,, now I'm here trying to fill in a gap.... here is the
mail:""

"I have a question for you. If someone wants to unistall Word 97 from their
computer but don't have the disk for it, how do they do that. They are
running with XP and when trying to unistall through add/ remove programs
they are prompted to insert the disk for Word 97 which they don't have.
They have Office 2000 on CD which we tried to install but wouldn't work as I
guess you need to unistall word 97? I couldn't find any other 97 programs to
remove to I guess its just that. "

Can any here help?
(personally, I dont see why add/remove wasnt their solution, but, it
obviously wasnt and its an area that I dont dabble in much.)

cheer for assist

Mittu: What is the basis for your recommendation? The
instructions for the Eraser 97 utility say, "This utility is
designed to be run after you run the Setup program for Office and
click Remove All to remove Office". The Eraser 97 utility can be
used in addition to, but NOT INSTEAD OF, running the setup
program to uninstall Office 97.
