HELP - New Project Server Installation Error

J

jerry_m_v

I am attempting to install MS Project Server 2003 on a new MS Windows Server
2003 and a new MS SQL Server 2000 (sp4) platform.

Running the install and selecting the *Create a new database* option I am
receiving an error message indicating that "... SQL Server 2000 SP3 or
greater or Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine 2000 SP3 or greater" is
required and the installation stops.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - I have searched the forums here and
the knowledgebase to no avail.

Jerry:

That particular warning can be ignored, particularly because you're one-up
on the requirement.

Thanks for replying Gary - this is not just a warning. There is no way past
this dialog.

Do you have any other ideas?

Maybe you can send a screen shot, as I've never seen this particular message
present as a show stopper.

I will email a screenshot directly to you on this. I appreciate your
assistance.

Just FYI - it is a dialog box warning message with only an OK option. If
you click OK, you simply return to the Enter DB Information Screen.

Jerry:

Are you certain that SQL is in mixed authentication mode and that TCPIP
transport is enabled? Are you sure that you're installing with an account
that can access the SQL server?
