What error message are you getting?
-----Original Message-----
OK - I have read and tried just about every suggestion on
this board to try to get rid of the error message that
occurs when i close word or outlook. I looked for macros,
went to startup files, looked for add-ins, ran virus
scanner....all of these resulted in no changes. I did
change the outlook editor to not use word and that seems
to work for now. What else can I try to get rid of that
message? One post metioned using the norton virus
scanner. I uninstalled the virus scanner yesterday and
installed the corporate edition. After I completed the
download, the messages started. One person said to
disable the Microsoft Plug-In in the scanner.... how do i
do this in the corporate edition of norton? ANY HELP IS
APPRECIATED!!!!

I am getting the message that says the Normal.dot template has been changed... do you want to save changes?
I receive this message upon exiting Word. I was receiving it when I exited Outlook as well, but I turned off Word as the editor. Thanks!

It sounds as if it wants to change the default template
settings. You can select yes, if you want your changes to
be saved to the default template. This usually happens
when you change margins and such.

If you are haven't made any changes that should affect
your default template and you are still getting these
errors, try just replacing the normal.dot template. Just
do a search for normal.dot, delete it, and then re-open
Word.

I deal with about 75 Word users, and the number one
problem we have with Word is corruption in the Normal.dot
template. Replacing the template fixes about 80% of the
problems we have with Word. If that doesn't work, try
going to the toolbar and run HELP | DETECT and REPAIR.
That also takes care of a lot of issues.

I hope this helps.
