Dear all:
I recently encountered a Office 2007 problem that's driven me nuts.
Here's the situation:
1. Had initially installed and run Office 2007 suite fine and w/o any
problems.
2. Tried to install Visio2007, but got a elect shortage in the middle of
installation process.
3. Reinstalled visio fine after power was baked up.
4. From this point on, whenever I tried to run
Word/Powerpoint/Excel/Visio/...., a dialog boxes for Windows Installer always
appeared (exactly s described by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q265194/),
and I had to waited a long period of time before I could run any of the
Office programs.
5. Besides, all my documents' extension association with all Office programs
were lost as well (that is, all Office documents were treated as 'unknown'
document types and I had to manually direct them to appropriate Office
programs).
6. I had checked the Office 2007 Resource Kit website
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/office/ork/default.mspx), but
didn't seem to find any useful info to help me solve this problem as well.
7. Had also tried the recovery or uninstall/reinstall from the CD, but the
same dialog still appeared afterwards.
Would greatly appreciate anyone to help me get out of this seems to be
never-ending nightmare for me.. Many many thanks in advance!!!
