HELP!!! Office 2007

Ã

Æon

I recently had a MAJOR computer crash. I was completely locked out of my
system, and I have had to re-install windows in order to fix the problem. I
HAD office 2007 installed, and I'm aware I cannot re-download it, but I
REALLY need to recover the data from it. I still have all the files &
folders that were there, but it's no longer an installed program, so I can't
access any of my files. I'm aware of the file converter to change them back
to original office files, but my big issue is that all my email, address
book, and several other vital items are lost, and I need help recovering
those items! Is there a way to get them back? PLEASE help me!!!

First, I would try to download it again today.
Second, you need Outlook to pen your emails, etc (if you still have the
Outlook PST file and didn't delete it when you reinstalled Windows). You
can most likely use your previous Outlook version (the one you had
installed before 2007) to open that file

No good... that's only to convert the new files (like docx) to the old file
types (like doc) It doesn't do anything for outlook... and that's what I
need help with. Thanks, though!

Thanks, but that didn't do any good... I'm using Outlook 2002, and can't get
it to look in any of the folders that I had before... I'm not sure how OL
2007 stored the .pst info, as it is obviously NOT in .pst format... maybe is
there a way to extract the info? I'm in need of the contacts, and also in
need of the mail that's been in there & been archived... I've gotten
everything back to normal except for that. ANY help would be GREATLY
appreciated.

Hi Æon,

With the release to manufacturing (RTM) of the 2007 Office products on 06Nov, the beta downloads from Microsoft are off their
boards. You may want to use the link below to also post this in the MS Office Outlook newsgroups and visit http://slipstick.com for
information on extracting data from PST files.

The info is in the PST format, but in the newer one that was introduced
by Outlook 2003. Outlook 2002 won't be able to open that file.
