help on word error

when i try to open a word doc i get an error every time

"the create adode pdf monitor cant be found. reinstall create adobe."

i only have reader, how do i get rid of this freaking thing. i have tried
going to the word startup file, but there is no reference to pdf. help!

Look in Word's Startup folder for anything containing PDF (such as
PDFMaker.dot) and remove it.
