Help Please: Project 2007 Custom Field for Visual Reports

F

Felipe

Hi, while creating a new Visual Report Template in MS Project 2007 with the
Excel option selected I noticed the following:

1. Not all selected fileds are available within the Excel Pivot file.
2. None of the custom fields selected appear in the Excel Pivot file.

Your help will be appreciated.

Hello Felipe,

None of the custom fields available in Project are timescaled so
they cannot be shown in the expandable section of the pivot table.
However, if you've added custom resource fields or custom task
fields and your pivot table is based upon the task usage or resource
usage, you should be able to show the values in your custom fields
as properties of either the task or resource.

Give us some more details - specific step by step on the new visual
report template you are trying to create, what you are seeing and
what you expect to see and we'll try to give more specific
direction.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thank you Julie!

I am selecting Resiource Usage orTask Usage data type to create template.
Then I slect my custom fileds, created as resource or task custom fileds, but
they do not show in the pivot.

Once you've added the tasks or resources to the pivot table in
Excel, right click on a task or resource and select "Show properties
in report" and select the custom field.
