Help please with cell colours

Hi all, hope you can help

How do I get a cell to change to a colour if I type a number in it.
ie type 1 in a cell and then I click off the cell turns to black.

Thanks for the Link ... right after I posted that, I figured out how to
do what I wanted.

I came back and canceled message but apparently the cancel didn't work.

Oh well, I'm glad to have that link because I can learn other things
there too.
