Help! "Resource" field missing from Project Center view

Hi

Before I started creating my own custom "Project Center" views with other
fields that we wanted displayed - our "out of the box" configuration had
"Resource" as a visible column in our default Project Center view.

I didn't do anything to our Summary (Default) Project Center view but rather
I created a new one called "PRoject Notes" and picked all of the various
fields that we wanted to see in our list of projects.

However, we really need to have "Resources" shown and when I try to modify
both the Summary view and our custom Project Notes view - "Resource" doesn't
appear in the list of available fields to pick from to display in our view.

Can you please help me figure out how to get Resources to show up again?
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Amy

The Resource Names field is available in any detailed Project views in PWA
but not in Project Center views. Hope this helps.

We really need a way to show management a list of all projects in our Project
Center - but we need to show "Resource Names" in that list - do you suggest
that we create a new Enterprise Custom Field and enter resource names in that
field in addition to the regular project resource assignment? Then in our
custom project center view we can add this custom field?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks! Amy

The "Resource Name" is only available in the Project detail (clicking on each
project one at a time in the Project Center view). That is the only way to
get the resources on each task is by looking at each project one at a time.
I think you may be getting your views confused.

What is the management trying to accomplish by looking at a list of names on
a project? Can't they click on a project to see the details?

Or are they looking for specific resources to see what the specific resource
has been assigned to? If that's the case, they can go to the Resource Center
view and on the left column, pick "View Resource Assignments". Using this,
they can can see what resources are assigned to waht tasks in what projects...

Thank you! We are new to this so we'll figure out a way for us to get the
reporting we need. We are also trying to utilize Enterprise Outline Codes
which seems to be working too.

Yes, you would need to create a custom enterprise Project text field and
type the names of the project team members into that field for each project.
Hope this helps.
