Help! Sharing a publisher document with different printers

M

Michele Yon

Hi all,

I was wondering if you can provide some tips. I am
editing a newsletter for a Border Collie rescue
organization. While putting each issue together, our
groups's director and I often email incomplete versions
back and forth to each other. The problem is that
because we have different printers, the spacing is often
changed when I send her a document. Articles that fit
perfectly fine in the document that I send to her are
missing multiple sentences when she receives them. Is
there a method for disabling the conversion of the
document when it gets sent to machines that have
different printers?

Thanks very much,
Michele Yon

Publisher 2002 and later (and possibly Publisher 2000, I don't quite
remember) are printer independent, and so this problem does not occur.
A workaround is to all install a generic printer driver like the Microsoft
Publisher Color ImageSetter.

Thanks very much! I am using Publisher 2000; the other
computer has Publisher 98. I will install the driver!

Needs to be installed on both computers, and it still is unlikely to
overcome your issues, as you are unlikely to have the same fonts.

As soon as you want to print the publication and need to change the printer
driver to the one you want to use everything is going to shift.
