help!!! - "to:" box Auto Complete choices are not in my Address Book!

I have cleaned up my address book adresses and yet Auto-
Complete is offering me the old adress (and NOT the
current one) for a given name. THis is happening for
many names in my address book.

For example: Address book has Smith, John as
(e-mail address removed), and when I start to type Smith in the
To: field, it offers me only one autom complete,
labeled "Smith, John", so I accept it. THen it fills the
field with Smith, John <[email protected]>. (this is an
old address or one that I received mail from once upon a
time).

I can even right click on this address in the address box
and choose properties, and change the address, and it
will work for that message, but next time the same thing
happens afgain!

If I look in my Address Book, everything is correct and I
can't find that wrong address anywhere.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!! Help meeeeeee.......

That's because Autocomplete does USE your address book. It remembers names
you've entered in the past, just like Internet Explorer's history. The
addresses are stored in a file usually called Outlook.NICK (or Outlook.NK2
depending ont he version of Outlook) that can be found in "C:\Documents and
Settings\{yourusername}\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook". To reset the
Autocomplete cache, you can delete that file and it will start collecting
addresses over again. Alternatively, when the choices of addresses appear,
click and HOLD on a name you DON'T want and press DELETE.
