Help Topic Links Do Not Work

My pc runs Office 2000 SR1a SP3 O/S WIN2000. None of the
Office Help Topic LINKS work. When I click on one, it just
sits there, instead of opening up the secondary window.
Also, shows placeholders for icon links at bottom of the
help topic windows.

Have tried running "Detect & Repair", reinstalling,
installing data1.msi and msowc.cab files, all to no avail.

Hi Butlerss,

Are you referring to the definition and 'show me' links?
If so, those are disabled in Office 2000 with SP3 to plug
a potential security hole. If other links, what is the
version of Internet Explorer from Help=>About in the
browser?

You can fix this by changing a registery key.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility\{ADB880A6-D8FF-11CF-9377-
00AA003B7A11}]
"AlternateCLSID"="{41B23C28-488E-4E5C-ACE2-BB0BBABE99E8}"
"Compatibility Flags"=dword:00000000
