Very strange - no error message, or anything.... powerpoint opens but file doesn't... any ideas?

For both you and the previous poster ([email protected]),
would you mind either posting or emailing me a copy of the problem files so
that we can investigate? I'd prefer if it they contain a minimum of content
(as few slides and shapes as possible) needed to reproduce the issue.

I have the same problem. None of my PC ppt's will open in PPT 2008 for MAC. When I go to open them, all the PC PPT's are grayed-out and unclickable!

I have the same problem. I have tried to open ppt files from a PC and indeed some of my previous Apple Mac based ppt files. The files do open but after a short while (about 15 seconds), PowerPoint 2008 crashes.

I've noticed that PPT2008 can't open .ppt files from usb media, but can open them when they are on local disk.
