HELP -- unwanted "notepad" attachments!

hi, all

i have windows 98 & lately whenever i open my microsoft
outlook, all my e-mail comes to me with attachments --
invariably redundant/meaningless "notepad" versions of the
same e-mail message i'm already looking at!

why is this happening to me and, more importantly, what
can i do to stop it?!

i really appreciate your help/advice!

In general, the format of the messages you receive are a function of the
sender's mail client, not yours.
