HELP!! uploading via FTP... getting error message 500?

I've never actually done this before.
I'm trying to upload my site to the remote host server but am getting all
kinds of 500r, 500p, 500t, etc. messages.
Whats going on with it and what should i do?

You need to contact your web host, as 500 errors are generated by the web server.
