Help with email setup

I am running Windows XP Professional and Office XP Professional. I am
setting peer to peer network with 3 Pc's although I do not have them
connected to main PC yet. I connect to Internet thru 56k dial up modem with
local ISP.

Do I configure my Administrative account to connect to Email (Outlook
settings) thru modem or LAN? Right now it is setup to connect thru modem.
Also, for other users on my Main PC--do I set their email to connect thru
modem or LAN? When I initially set up the accounts I had to change the
default setting from LAN to Modem in Outlook for the other users. The only
one setup automatically by Outlook to connect to Email thru modem was my
main administrative account.

I guess my question is do I change all users to connect thru modem in
outlook settings or should all users except the main administrative account
be set to LAN?

Please advise. Since I loaded SP2, Windows Messenger will not log in
automatically to internet unless I have all users, including my
administrative account setup to connect to email thru LAN. Which is the
correct way so Messenger and Email work correctly??
