Help with Error Please. "InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form.

Can anyone shed some light on what may be causing this? I was working on the
form on hour and it was working great. I return to work on the form in
design mode after a couple of hours and make some routine changes. Changes
like, font color, shading, basic conditional formatting of sections based
upon values in option/check boxes, cut & pasting of tables.

Generally, I can figure out what to do after an error, but this may be the
least helpful of all error messages. Especially, when I didn't do anything
(at least I feel that way) out of the ordinary.

I am running InfoPath 2003 SP3 on a Windows XP SP2 running MS Office 2003
Professional. The form has a primary data connection to a sql server 2005
table and 3 secondary data connections to sql tables. Again, the form was
working nicely for weeks and all of a sudden I am getting this not so
informative error.

Anyone know anything?

I tried the MS recommended fix regarding the Language Setting thing....no
luck.

I can open it up via design mode, but I can't preview it cause of this
error.

Thanks to whomever knows the answer.

Are you working in dessign mode when you receive this error, or do you
receive this when opening the form

When you just opening the form, a reason can be that the Security and
Trust settings of the form are incorrect

Go to Tools -> Form Option -> Security and Trust.
If it is set to automatically determine the security level
(recommended)

But when you work with files fro the local computer, you need Full
Trust. (Also when you execute code i think).

I hope this can help you and point you to the right direction:

Frederik,

Thanks for the input.

Just to clarify...

The error occurs when I open it. However, I can bypass this by right
clicking the published xsn file and selecting "Design" form option. This
opens up the form in design mode, however, when I try to view it via the
"Preview" option in design mode, I again get this error. Basically, the form
can only be opened in design mode. Pretty much useless....really, if I can't
open.

I am pretty sure that I don't need Full Trust in this situation. I have
been working with this particular xsn file for weeks now in my environment
without issues. It was a sudden thing that just happened yesterday. I was
able to research and find out that it may have been caused by a policy set by
the IT deparment.

Here is my email to them:

"I am writing to you based on some research that I have done in the last 15
hours. I am building an InfoPath smart form and have been successfully doing
so up until yesterday around 1pm-2pm. I receive an error message that is not
much of help, but after some research I came across this MS KB article that
was interesting. It would be very helpful if I can find a solution for this
as I can't open the form in preview mode which will be the mode that the
attorneys will be in.

I think that I was able to isolate when the cause of the error happened, but
I need you to confirm it. I have supporting evidence that it may have
happened during a specific time period because I was literally working on
this form on a firm image machine from 2am - 12pm yesterday without any
problems. At noon I stopped working on the form, then return to work on the
form to find that I couldn't…this was around 1:30pm or so. So between 12-2pm
yesterday, did ManageSoft install anything a policy called "Prevent language
tune-up from running" which has a setting to "Never run language tune-up"? I
took a look in the event viewer and some installs did occur within that exact
time period but the details of the installs are to vague for me to pin point.

Could I get someone to confirm this? Also, a workaround for this would be
good too. (I know the workaround, but I don't think that it is effective due
to the blocking by the policy.)"

Any thought now?

I'm not sure if you've resolved this or not, but I've found that I get
frequent caching issues with Infopath. I cleared them by going to Fill out a
new form> selecting the form under Recently Used Forms and selecting Remove
this form under Form tasks.
