MS wants $33.00 + $7.50shipping + Tax. I think thats bs, charging $47 for a
product i paid over $400.00. Anyone know of a site where i can download a
copy and use my cd key? MS said there is a site but for developers. He didnt
know what site.
Thanks

There is no download. And $47 is better than not being able to use the
product at all. Unfortunately it's the price you have to pay for not taking
better care of the disks.

I don't know who BG is but why is it their fault or Microsoft's fault that
your disks were damaged? If you don't take car of your car, is it your
dealership's fault? If you don't take care of your body, is it your parents'
fault?

I think $47 is a good deal - at least they are offering to replace it. They
could just tell you to hit the pike.

Actually, if I had a scratched disk I'd be glad that Microsoft would replace
it for a fraction of the cost.

Exactly, you said scratched, mine isn't!!! so why should you pay money for a
replacement cd? regardless. I got a copy of xp 2003 pro, used my cd key and
it works just as new. I still have my opinion about MS and you guys have
yours.

J

JoAnn Paules [MSFT MVP]

Okay, then let's back up.

You said the disk is damaged. Does this mean broken or what? You say it's
not scratched. You've also said that you installed it and put it back in the
case. That's good - that's what you should do. If it worked once and was
stored properly, that what damage occurred? Could the disk be dirty or
smudged? What happened when you tried to reinstall the disk. (Please don't
say "It didn't work!". That's not an explanation.)

And you are entitled to your opinion regardless of who agrees with you or
who doesn't. As am I.

If it is not scratched or damaged in any way then maybe there could be an issue with your system, This has happened to some posters and some could be fixed . If you care to post exactly what happens when you try to use it and if any messages or what ever happens or shows then maybe someone can help to get you going with that disk

Ah, poor ikkle babby's throwing his toys out of his cot because he threw his
discs out and now he has to pay to receive new ones! Well boo hoo, wake up
and smell the java, buddy! That's how most companies work - I lost my
Photoshop CD and Adobe charged me for a replacement, I was charged by Corel
for a replacement Painter disc, EA charged me to replace my Sim City disc.

They're running a company - not a charity for morons who can't look after
their discs properly. I don't have mine in their cases, I have them in a big
CD wallet with a list of all the installation keys taped in the front.

Never lost another disc since. Disc goes back in wallet, wallet sits on
shelf.

Oh, by the way, his initials are WG, not BG.
