help with percent

M

mikeeee

Here goes my stupid question. Hope someone can help. Example:
Column A Lets say A1 to A150 is filled in with only one number i
each cell the numbers range from 1 to 12. Lets say there are 20#1's
0#2's, 5#3's and so on and maybe some numbers between 1 and 12 are no
listed at all. What I need to know is what percent of 100 does eac
number between 1 and 12 equal so I can put this in a chart. In othe
words if you add all the #1's, what percent of 100 does all the numbe
1's equal. In the chart I need to show the numbers 1 to 12 and th
percent total of each one. also when I add another number between
and 12 to columnA I need for the chart to reflect the new percent base
on the number I added. I hope this makes sense.
Please Help ASAP
Thanks in advanc

Try summarizing the data at the bottom of the spreadsheet using countif and
then applying a percentage formula to the total count.

Column A Total 1's Column B Countif(range, "1")
Column A Total 2's Column B Countif(range, "2") etc.

Hi,

Seems like you need a COUNIF formula.
Please in cell B2 for example . . .
=COUNTIF(A1:A150,12)

=COUNTIF(RANGE,Criteria) in critiera place your numbers 1-12 (yo
should place 1 number / criteria per column C,D,E,F, etc) then do a pi
chart base on the result if the countif. Hope this helps
