Help with redesign of website

Hello

I'm new to this group. I have a film website where I do reviews and such. I am in the midst of redesigning my website. A bit about my web design savvy: I don't know too much html. I'm using MS Front Page to design my site

Anyhow, here is my website now
http://www.geocities.com/fidelio1st/film.ht

It's worked for the last few years, but I feel it's entirely too messy. I'm renaming the site "Fidelio's Film Central" and losing the index and literature pages, and going to have just the film page as the home page

Here is a redesign I did with frames, note not all the links work correctly, ie for the reviews, the left toolbar will eventually be taken off with this new design, and the pics aren’t uploaded yet
http://www.geocities.com/fidelio1st/index2.ht

I like this design pretty well, and it works in most browsers ok: IE, Nescape on PC Windows; Mozilla in Linux; IE on Mac; but looks a bit funky in Netscape on Mac

But here’s the problem, I have a bunch of my film pages Googled, the individual addresses like http://www.geocities.com/fidelio1st/film/killbillvolume1.html which gets be a bunch of hits, and I don't want to change those addresses....or at least I don't want to go back to Goggle and reenter new addresses if I redesign the whole structure

1) If I go with this design, how should I design the individual pages, so if someone goes there first, they can easily get back to the main page? A link bar at the bottom? Or at the top like Grove does: http://www.groveatlantic.com/grove/wc.dll?groveproc~book~259

2) Really the whole idea is that people always see the information on the top, left and right frames, but that it’s easily updatable my me. Look at what Ain’t It Cool News does: http://www.aintitcool.com/ They did this idea without frames, but when you click on a link, it reloads the whole page (although the left and right side are a bit different). It’s a little different than what I’m talking about….but another idea I have is, do it like that in that each page has an easily updatable top, left and right that are always the same, and only the center changes. How do I do this and make the top, left and right easily updatable, but the same on every page

3) I’m going with the basic idea of the Grove website http://www.groveatlantic.com because I like the design and it’s easy to navigate. But can you think of a better way to redesign the site, but with the basic ideas

a. Make the look a lot more simpler and easier to navigate, where I have all the review links on the pag
b. Be able to easily update a sidebar and whatno

Thanks for any suggestions.

Here is another recommendations...

Post your request to a more appropriate group. This group is to
assist in programming, not design.

Thanks for the help and especially the sarcasm, because that helped the most. Like I said, I was new here, and thought this was the best place to post, but I'll look elsewhere. Ok I'll post to the web design forum. Oh wait, there is no web design forum for MS Front Page.

Again thanks, that last comment was very helpful, but what else should I expect from a MS board.

Fidelio: Go to microsoft.public.frontpage.client for better help, ignore
sarcasm. The client group will give you constructive advice.

The suggestion to post to another section of the Front
Page newsgroup was given so that more folks would see
your question and be able to respond.

This section of the Front Page newsgroup deals with
programming questions (eg, where to go to find a program
to set up a discussion group because Front Page's
discussion group does not meet your needs).

The group you should post your question to is Front Page
General. You will get some construction advice there.

By the way Microsoft only provides the server space for
these newsgroups. The people who post here are all
volunteers who do not get paid. Be nice and you will
receive help. Be nasty and you will get no help. Your
choice.
