Help with setup

Running Windows XP Professional and Office XP Professional.

Since I installed SP2 I can't seem to get Messenger 6.2 and Outlook to work
correctly. Is this possible or do I need to uninstall Messenger 6.2 and use
Windows Messenger. I use POP 3 email in Outlook. Messenger is setup to
sign in with my hotmail account.

I have Ethernet 10/100 network with 2 additional PC's that I am going to
hook up although they are not hooked up yet. I access the internet thru
dial up modem. I assigned static IP to network card and setup Outlook to
use dialup modem to access email. I also have 4 other users setup on this
PC.

Whenever I try to log onto the Internet, Internet Explorer hangs while
Windows Messenger is trying to sign in. Then it finally signs out after
about 10 minutes and MSN Messenger signs in. I have tried using separate
hotmail accounts for each account, but both default to the most recent
account and since both can't sign in at the same time, everything hangs
while it tries to sign in with Windows Messenger. I also tried having
Windows Messenger not run at startup by unchecking all boxes, but it just
hangs longer because then it can't find Windows Messenger! I do not get any
error messages, everything just hangs for about 10 minutes and then it all
works after windows messenger signs in & back out again and then MSN
Messenger signs in. At least that is what it seems is happening.

I also loaded the Peer to Peer networking update.

If there is a way to get this working, would someone please explain how to
configure the Messenger Clients and Outlook so I can access the Internet and
have Outlook running while MSN Messenger is running?

Please advise. I am ready to try reinstalling again for about the 100th
time!

This sounds more like a Windows or Messenger problem. Perhaps you'll get
more help in a group dedicated to one of those topics.
