help with the incomprehensible non-functional bullets but I see

Hi,
I signed on to get help with the incomprehensible non-functional bullet
list feature but I see that there are so many messages with this problem and
there is no real solution.
The bullets in word 2007 are un-usable. I dont want to set them as a style I
only want to select in certain places and I have to select where they go and
where the indent is. I want a certain bullet list that I create. I dont want
an extra tab between the bullet and the first letter. I have to keep hunting
for the bullet list I created each time. I want this list in all my word
doc. I don't want the exploding bullet lists to ever show up at any time for
the rest of my life. The bullet list I keep creating keeps being demoted for
some reason and I have to go hunting for it through the mine-field of
exploding, in your face, unwanted bullet lists.
This is so user-fiendly it is hard to even comprehend that software this
unusable would be released. I am sorry but I have wasted soooo much time
with the bullets and have to do them by hand.

In Word, you *must* use styles to produce stable numbering and bullet
formatting. This is true for all versions, at least back to Word 97.

Simple, single-level bullets can most easily be created by pressing
Ctrl+Shift+L, which applies the List Bullet style to text. You can modify
the style to suit your needs.

If you want a multilevel (an outline) list, set it up via Home tab |
Multilevel List | Define New List Style. Specify a name for your list style,
and use Format, Numbering to define all aspects of number/bullet formatting.
In particular, be sure to associate a unique paragraph style with each level
of the list.
