Help! Word freezes up

.. I had the same problem and found that it was problem
with Norton Anti-virus. There are several solutions
addressed at that link though, so even if you don't have
Norton, it's worth taking a look.

Thanks, Mario. Disabling Norton didn't help, but the link
you suggested is great. (I was just hoping there was an
easy answer)
I'll try some of the suggested troubleshooters.
