help: Word painfully slow

When I type text in Word 2002, the characters appear on the screen
with a delay - it's like trudging through mollasses. I have 512 Mb of
RAM, a 2.1 GHZ processor and 50 Gb of freehard disk space.
While I'm typing in Word, I can hear the hard disk working and see the
hard disk light blinking all the time... What's causing this problem
and what do about it? Thanks in advance for all replies :)

Hi, Voychek. If Norton/Symantec Antivirus is installed on your
computer, try disabling the Office Plugin that comes with that program
by clicking on Start | Programs | Norton | Options | Miscellaneous |
uncheck the "Enable Office Plugin" box.

Thanks, but I don't have Norton installed. I've disabled speech and
handwriting recognition in Office, but the problem is still there :(
