I cannot update our price lists by say 10% without having to type each cell,
does anyone know how i can?

put 1.1 in an empty cell (actually, the value you enter should equal 1+ the %
change)
copy that cell
select all your prices
from the menu choose Edit->PasteSpecial->Values->Multiply
