Panos

Hello,

In my website happen something very strange, when i created ( before 1 year
) i had name the link page with the name "Links" so the URL for this page was
like: krakow.gr/index_Links.htm after 3-4 months i realized that this name
was not very useful because had the capital "L" so i decided to change it and
to make it "links" so the URL became www.krakow.gr/index_links.htm

Then i went to my FTP and i removed the .htm file "index_Links.htm"

If you now type both these two URLS you will see that both are active, i
have recheck again my FTP and not any file with the name "index_Links.htm"
exist

Anyone has idea what happen here??? try the URLs

1) www.krakow.gr/index_links.htm
2) www.krakow.gr/index_Links.htm

Thanks
Panos

Thats true...but why in all my other websites the URL is case sensitive? for
example try www.bratislava.gr/index_Links.htm its not showing up

It has to do with the hosting company maybe? this is the only explanation i
can undertand ( I have krakow.gr and bratislava.gr in different servers )

Yes that true...the one is Window server and the other Linux...

Thanks for the information.

Yep, MS IIS is not case sensitive which is what Panos is on, *nix servers
are case sensitive...always safest to use all lowercase with no spaces or
illegal characters in file names no matter what server you are on.
