I’m using Visio beta 2 and I need to resize a shape “package†in “UML Use
Caseâ€. The shape is blocked, protected, but I can un-protect by going to
“>>format >>protection†and clearing all the option but still I can re-shape
it in height only in Wight. Can somebody help me?? Thanks

Hi Ricardo,

the uml shapes are group shapes which means they are a set of subshapes
grouped together
if you check view/drawing explorer you see how the shapes are organised
the package shape consist of three shapes
Package
name
sheet.x
For each shape you have to open the shapesheet and remove 'guard' wherever
you find that in the formulas of the cells like height width, pinx piny
With releasing the protection you are now able to resize the shape to your
liking

Drawback can be that you loose some functionality

good luck

Hi Rene,

Your answer also helped me "unlock" shapes. Would you happen to know how to
add a line-feed to the name of a shape so that it splits into two lines? I
tried the usual key combination of CTRL-ENTER, but that doesn't seem to work
in UML shapes.
