Don't know what you mean by "..returns where I don't want them" but the
margins can be set via
"File->Page Setup->Margins"
The margins can be set to whatever you like.
If the margins are ok then check out the style set on the paragraph(s)
with the "weird" spacing (you may have selected a style with indents).
Does the document look ok in "Print Preview" mode?
