Hello everyone,

I got rid of the dreaded "iSearch" toolbar on my IE browser. Now a new
toolbar by the name of "Search" recently appeared. I eliminate it through the
right button but as soon as I change to another site...it's there again.

Could someone please help me? I need the extra space that bar is taking and
wish to get rid of it ASAP

AdAware didn't do it!

This is what I did to remove iSearch. I wonder if SOMEONE WHO KNOWS may be
able to help me. Thanks in advance


1. Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The
Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will
open.)
2. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \
{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565}', if it exists.
3. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \
CurrentVersion \ Explorer\Browser Helper Objects \
{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565}', if it exists.
4. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565}', if it exists.
5. Delete 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser\{1C78AB3F-A857-482E-80C0-3A1E5238A565}', if it
exists.
6. Exit the registry editor.
7. Restart your computer.
8. Start Windows Explorer and delete:
%SystemDir%\toolbar.dll
Note: %SystemDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Windows\System
(Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or
C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP).
9. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
10. In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options.
11. Click the Programs tab -> Reset Web Settings.

I don't think he meant to say that AdAware installed the
Search thingy. AdAware may be able to detect the program
that is causing your search thingy to appear, and may
disable it.
