N Nick Hodge Jan 7, 2007 #3 Dave Both your subject line and your message give no idea about your specific issue, so guidance would be near impossible...maybe post with more detail or all I can offer is....plug it in? -- HTH Nick Hodge Microsoft MVP - Excel Southampton, England [email protected] www.nickhodge.co.uk

D Dave Peterson Jan 7, 2007 #4 I'd start here: http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search But I'd try to give it a specific newsgroup to search. If you're having trouble with Windows XP, then I'd put: *WindowsXP* in the "Return only messages from the group at this location" box If you're having trouble with hardware, maybe you can put your manufacturer's name in that box--like: *Dell* The asterisks are wild cards and will look for any newsgroup that has the word Dell (for example) in its name. If it's software related, you could use: *Powerpoint*

P Paul Pedersen Jan 8, 2007 #5 30 or 40 years ago, "computer issues" might have been a small enough topic to do that. Nowadays it's much too complex. You need a general area, sub-area, topic, subtopic, sub-subtopic, etc.
