Help!

Some (many!) years back I created a invoice template in Word 2003 for a
friend for his stairlift business. It enabled him to fill in address
details, product description quantity etc by stepping through using the
enter key with total price being auto calculated.

He's been very happy with it and many of his customers have commented upon
it. An issue, simple to resolve I hope, has now arisen. He's formed a
limited company so requires a change to his company address details to
reflect this. No problem....or so I thought !

I can't seem to do this !!!

If I open up the invoice form from new template I can input data no problem
but I can't seem to edit and save !?!. The document on opening is protected
so I unprotect and change required details. Now, I saved as a template
without protecting but on using to open as new document no cells are
protected so can't step through and input.

I don't remember ever protecting the document before saving as a template as
it requires a password to do so (and obviously to open). What have I
forgotten ????

If it now requires a password, the first step is to find out if he put one
on.
If that falis there are password breakers her and there on the net that
might work.
Third choice woild be to do it over again.

The best choice would be to use the right tool and do it in Access.

Mike,

Thanks' for reply. I've now saved Ok as template and when opening as doc
everything functioning correctly. Done nothing. Unprotected and saved
without protecting a number of time, then unprotected, edited again, saved
and this time OK?. No idea what happened.

Who knows. It may have been a corupted file or maybe you didn't get milk and
cookies to the brownies on time.
